Dear APA Members:
After many months of preparation through kind help and cooperation of many people including the Nominee Committee, chaired by Professor Gavin Jones, and nominees who stand as candidates in various positions in the second APA Online election that took place from August 15th to October 16th,2010, APA finally has the Second Council to take care of the Association activities during the next two years (2011-2012).
The Online votes are automatically counted and did run successfully as it did for the First Online Election in 2008. For this Second Online election, out of 818 eligible members for voting, 366 members (equivalent to 44.74%) registered their votes. Followings is a list of elected candidates for positions in the Council during the next two years:
President: Mohammad Jalal Abbasi-Shavazi (IRAN)
Vice President: Terence H. Hull (AUSTRALIA)
Secretary General: Socorro Gultiano (PHILIPPINES)
Treasurer: Vipan Prachuabmoh (THAILAND)

I would like to inform you the election results and thank you for your active participation in this important event. I personally would like to congratulate the nine elected candidates, and to express my most sincere thank to the other nominees who agreed to stand as candidates in this important election of the Association. I am sure that the newly elected Council members will continue to work hard and direct the Association to achieve it goals during the next two years.
