History of Asian Population Association Conference
Asia is home to almost four billion people which accounts for nearly 60% of the world?s population. The continent encompasses great diversity in terms of size of nations, religions, languages, ethnicities, culture, political systems, and stages of economic development. It includes countries that have completed demographic transition as well as nations that continue to struggle with high rates of maternal, infant and child mortality besides moderately high fertility.

Asian Population Association Conference is held every 2 year. The first conference was held in New Delhi, India (2010). And in 2012, we are pleased to announce that the 2nd Asian Population Association Conference will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 26th August ? 29th August, 2012. The Conference would help to promote the exchange of research findings and the debate of policy options among the population professionals of the nations of Asia.
