APA membership is for all who made contributions to the scientific study of population issues through their research, teaching, writing, or other related activities.

Regular membership

For professionals, either activity employed or retired irrespective of place of residence. Regular members have full rights to vote in elections and participate in Association activities.

Student membership

Free membership is available for those currently enrolled in university studies of population. They have no voting rights in the Association elections. On graduation they are encouraged to become regular members.
