About the Conference

The Asian Population Association (APA) is delighted to announce that its

7th Asian Population Association Conference (7th APAC) will take place from 24–27 November 2026 in Hanoi, Viet Nam. This event is being organized in partnership with the Viet Nam Population Authority (VNPA), Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Union of Science Technology Associations (VUSTA). 

The conference is expected to convene more than 500 scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to share and debate the latest insights on current population and development challenges. The 2026 APAC will be held entirely in-person. Alongside oral and poster presentations, the program will feature plenary sessions, expert debates, invited panel discussions, training workshops, exhibitions, and a series of side events scheduled before and throughout the conference.

The Conference welcomes all individuals engaged in population studies - including researchers, educators, and professionals in governmental, non-governmental, and international organizations. Institutions working in the population field are also invited to host exhibits, training sessions, side meetings, or sponsored panels. Researchers and population professionals are encouraged to submit paper and poster abstracts. All submissions for oral and poster sessions will undergo a peer-review selection process.

Important Dates and Deadlines  

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING THE PAPER OR POSTER 

1. All abstracts must be submitted through the online system accessible via the APA website. Authors are required to upload both a brief abstract of about 200 words and a more detailed extended abstract (2–4 pages, including any tables) outlining the study’s topic, objectives, data sources, methods, and anticipated results.

2. Each presenting author may submit up to two abstracts. Authors may, however, be included as co-authors on additional submissions.

3. Submissions must be assigned to one of the thematic areas listed in the online system.

4. Authors wishing to present only a poster should select their preferred theme and indicate “poster session” during submission.

5. Every submission will undergo review by two anonymous referees before the theme organizer considers it for placement in a conference session.

REGISTRATION

All participants must complete the online registration process and submit the required fee payable by credit card or bank transfer to secure their place at the conference. Reduced registration rates are available for APA members and student associates as well as for the host country participants. The reduced registration fee is applicable only for those APA members holding active membership. Additional information will be provided on the Conference website.
