13th Annual International Research Symposium
(DemARS 2026)
“Population and Sustainable Development”
Organized by the Department of Demography, University of Colombo, in collaboration with UNFPA Sri Lanka
The Department of Demography, University of Colombo, in collaboration with UNFPA Sri Lanka, invites researchers, academics, policymakers, and students to participate in the 13th Annual International Research Symposium (DemARS 2026).
Held under the theme “Population and Sustainable Development,” the symposium will provide a platform for sharing research and discussing contemporary population issues, including demographic transition, fertility and reproductive health, migration, population ageing, climate change, digital demography, and sustainable development.
The symposium will be conducted in a hybrid format on 9 December 2026. Selected authors will also have the opportunity to publish their full papers in The Demographer journal.
